BackgroundWhat is the WANP?The WANP is the professional association for Naturopathic Physicians (NDs) in the State of Washington, incorporated in 1934. WANP is a non-profit entity, supported and funded through annual dues paid by its members. What is the purpose of the WANP?The Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians (WANP) represents the interests of the licensed naturopathic physicians in the state of Washington. Its function is to serve the profession and the community through effective leadership and commitment to excellence in health education and health care services. Member Representation: The WANP collectively represents the interests of its members to the state legislature, and other state and federal government entities. Naturopathic Physician Referrals: The WANP serves Washington residents by providing referrals to qualified member physicians. Physician Education: The WANP sponsors seminars and conferences, accredited by the Washington State DOH, and provides speakers to outside organizations for continuing education of physicians, and other health care professionals. Public Education: The WANP is dedicated to educating Washington residents on the benefits and limitations of naturopathic medicine. The WANP does this through the WANP website, multi-media educational and public service announcements, and various publications. Collaboration: The WANP works with businesses, healthcare and educational institutions, as well as other organizations to further the health and well being of Washington residents through public and health-care-professional education.
