2010 Annual Naturopathic Lobby Day
When: Wednesday, January 27th
Where: The Capitol in Olympia
Why: Lobby Day is an opportunity to meet with legislators in their offices and educate them about naturopathic medicine and our legislative agenda. This is an extremely effective way to personally make a difference for our profession and to significantly raise awareness of lawmakers about our issues and our important role in the healthcare system. The more who attend, the more impact we can make.
Logistics: The WANP will have a designated meeting room in the Capitol building and will provide training on the talking points and message to use – so even if you’ve never done this before you’ll know what to do. The event typically runs from about 11:30 to 5:00 pm and you are welcome for the entire time, although just coming for your meetings is most important. Meetings are usually about 15 minutes long.
Agenda: This year we are putting forward a bill to create a board of naturopathic medicine, legislation that will replace the current Naturopathic Advisory Committee and put NDs in decision making roles similar to those enjoyed by all other physician-level professions.
To attend: Call the WANP office at 206-547-2130 or via email at info@wanp.org and let us know your addresses for work and home so we can determine your legislative districts. We’ll arrange the meetings and let you know the time, place and other details.
We hope you can join us!
