Description

This talk will discuss methods of modulating the immune system and for decreasing viral attachment, replication, and tissue sequela. I will discuss assessment of natural killer cell number and activity. I will discuss how to improve immune function in immune-compromised individuals as well as normal individuals. I will also discuss cytokine and inflammatory reactions from viral infection and how to modulate them. Attendees will learn what labs to order for determining NK cell number, activity and general immune function; understand mechanisms of intervention for viral replication with natural substances; have concepts of modulating inflammation systems to kill viruses as well as to prevent cytokine storm and excessive inflammation; and understand how to improve the TH1 system to fight viral infection in individuals with allergies or autoimmune conditions.
