What a truly inspiring morning! Mere hours ago, the Public Comment Meeting portion of our Sunrise Review drew to a close, and we are unspeakably proud of how our community showed up in support of our effort to expand naturopathic scope of practice to align with our training and legal recognition as primary care practitioners. We were moved by the heartfelt, patient-centered, professional comments delivered by our supporters and we are so grateful at how clearly well-prepared everyone was to speak at today's meeting. If you showed up for us today in any way - whether by bravely speaking out loud, learning and engaging just by listening in, or sending us some good positive energy - we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
For those wondering, we expect the Department of Health to release its draft Sunrise Review report in late May, and then there will be another opportunity to submit written comments in response to the draft. The Department will then finalize its report and turn it in to the Legislature before the 2025 Legislative Session, and we'll be off and running fighting for this in the lawmaking body. It's been an incredible journey so far over this past year, and there's a lot more work to be done, but we are excited to keep advancing.
