Walk USA for Health Equity | Washington State

September 12 - September 24

Washington State will host the final leg of Dr. Dennis Godby's "Walk USA for Health Equity" event - a walk from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to Seattle, Washington, that has taken years to complete. Dr. Godby's mission is to raise awareness about the realities of racial and economic bias in the delivery of medicine. "Where you live, your race, and your income still determine how long you live and what care you receive. Walk USA for Health Equity confronts those systems—publicly, locally, and persistently."

Dr. Godby invites naturopathic physicians, patients, and friends to join him on any or all of his walk across our state:

Saturday, September 12 - Arriving to Spokane, WA
Sunday, September 13 - Departure from Spokane
Wednesday, September 16 - Arriving to Moses Lake
Thursday, September 17 - Departure from Moses Lake
Saturday, September 19 - Arriving to Ellensburg
Sunday, September 20 - Departure from Ellensburg
Wednesday, September 23 - Arriving to Snoqualmie
The walk officially ends with a full afternoon of events in Seattle on Thursday, September 24:
- 1:30 pm: Opening gathering and send off from Jimi Hendrix Park/Northwest African American Museum
- 2:30 pm: Gathering at City Hall Park
- 3:00 pm: Gathering at Waterfront Park
- 3:30 pm: Gathering at Pike Place Market
- 4:00 pm: Closing rally on Pier 62 on the Seattle Waterfront
The WANP invites all interested parties to join us for some cold beverages at our WANP "After the Walk" After Hours event at Taproom at Pike Place - just a 10 minute (0.3 mile) walk from Pier 62 - from 5p to 7p (just after the closing rally).
