Description
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) has been called “the most complicated disease of the most complex organ of the body” and is an increasingly high-profile public health issue (Kenzie, 2017). An added problem with concussion is that it’s almost defined by being an invisible injury. However, with the ever-exploding research in concussion, we could argue that naturopathic doctors are uniquely equipped for treating and rehabbing these invisible injuries. By gaining an understanding of the unique physiology in concussion and the roadblocks met by patients with post-concussion syndrome, we can craft patient-centered plans to accelerate their recovery and rehab. This presentation aims to uncover the high-yield and evidence-based therapies that NDs can offer patients suffering from concussion and post-concussion syndrome.
