The COVID-19 pandemic is an ever changing landscape of information and practice updates, with many aspects still unknown. COVID-19 rates remain high as vaccination rates vary throughout the country and the Delta variant continues to take hold. Pediatric patients, many of whom are still unvaccinated, are not exempt to the adverse effects of SARS-CoV-2 viral infection. In this talk we will discuss the SARS-CoV-2 virus, status of Washington State within the pandemic, COVID-19 in children, Emergency Use Authorization and FDA Approved COVID-19 vaccines available to children, COVID-19 handling of vaccines, and the CDC recommendations for COVID-19 pediatric vaccination.
