A cough is the most common symptom reported in healthcare providers' offices. Unfortunately, the prevalence of cough has increased significantly since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Research shows that a cough can persist for more than four weeks, and in some cases, up to six months after COVID-19 infection. Chronic cough carries a significant global epidemiological burden. As naturopathic doctors, we provide effective alternative treatments for patients who have not experienced relief from conventional pharmaceutical therapies for acute or chronic cough. Integrating homeopathic remedies into our therapeutic armamentarium will greatly enhance our ability to treat various types of cough—whether acute or chronic, infectious or non-infectious.

In this presentation, I will explore the following various types of coughs and their corresponding homeopathic treatments:

• Acute cough: from conditions such as the common cold, influenza, pneumonia, and pertussis.
• Subacute cough: including post-infectious cough, bronchitis, and lingering pertussis.
• Chronic cough: associated with allergies, asthma, chronic bronchitis, prolonged post-infectious cough, bronchiectasis, and interstitial lung disease.

To enhance the audience’s ability to prescribe appropriate homeopathic remedies, I will play sound clips of various cough types, paired with their corresponding homeopathic treatments. These audio examples will include characteristic sounds of a Spongia cough, an Antimonium tartaricum cough, and a Bryonia cough.

The presentation will also cover real case studies involving coughs secondary to conditions such as allergies, asthma, bronchiectasis, COVID-19, post-COVID, pertussis, and pneumonia. Each case study will highlight dosing strategies and case management techniques. Additionally, extensive homeopathic resources will be provided to support the audience's clinical practice in treating coughs.

Lastly, an update on the homeopathic management of COVID-19 and post-COVID symptoms will be presented to offer current insights and practical guidance for practitioners.
