This 60-minute presentation discusses the amazing potential mushrooms may have with longevity. Dr. Xochitl Palomino, ND will discuss seven mushrooms on how they may promote longevity and vitality. This is a deep dive that uncovers the potential genetic support mushrooms can unlock, and how they promote cellular functioning and antioxidant activity. Along with maintaining balanced immunity, and how these seven mushrooms (Cordyceps, Reishi, Lion's Mane, Chaga, Maitake, Royal Sun blazei, and Mesima) may support nearly every system of the body.

Dr. Xochitl Palomino, ND, was a holistic integrative primary care physician in the state of Washington for over eleven years. She received her naturopathic doctorate from Bastyr University and her undergraduate degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Xochitl’s first exposure to the benefits of herbs and plants was with her Mexican mother at seven years old, where she was taught botanical traditions, and the pursuit to further learn persisted throughout her adulthood.
During her undergraduate and graduate education, Dr. Palomino received four bio-medical research grants from the National Institutes of Health. During her studies at Bastyr University, her education included Ayurvedic medicine, Western herbs, fundamentals of Chinese Medicine, homeopathy, aromatic medicine, biofeedback, and yoga therapy.
Fueled with the desire to further broaden her knowledge of herbal medicine, Dr. Palomino participated in an herbal apprenticeship for five months with Jeanine Pollack. While traveling to Guatemala in 2001, she spent six months with the Mayan Q’eqchi trying to preserve their botanical traditions. She also taught courses for the Washington State Department of Public Health and has been a member of the King County Public Health subcommittee for over two years.
For over 4.5 years Dr. Palomino has been a member of the National Science and Education team of Host Defense, where she has educated healthcare practitioners, retail staff, and consumers on the benefits of mushrooms. She also educated healthcare professionals, retail staff, and consumers for over ten years in the natural products industry, medical conferences and state naturopathic organizations. Dr. Palomino has been the practitioner channel educator for Host Defense Mushrooms since 2020, and she has enjoyed developing and presenting practitioner-level webinars and lectures. She looks forward to providing lectures to share her expertise and knowledge for all levels of understanding.
