The WANP has been working closely with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries over the last several months to update the billing codes utilized by naturopathic physicians - transitioning our doctors from unique "local" codes to industry-standard CPT codes. We have provided both written and verbal comments in support of this long-awaited modernization effort - to include expressing concern with some of the language included in the draft rule. We were thrilled that the team at L&I heard our feedback and made the adjustments we requested in the final rule language. The new billing is officially effective TODAY, and you can find the rule-making history - including the final adopted rule language and a concise explanatory statement - HERE. We are so grateful to the Department of L&I for working on these changes and we hope that this will enable additional NDs in Washington to get involved in our state's care program for injured workers.
