Dr. Ebony Caldwell was born in Princeton, NJ, and raised in Rome, GA. Her life experiences led her on a mission of self-love, which became the driving force of her journey into Naturopathic Medicine. She received her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in San Diego, California. Prior to this, she obtained her bachelor of science in biochemistry from Montclair State University in Montclair NJ.
Her time at Bastry allowed her to discover new passions in ethnobotany and plant spirit medicine, which led her on excursions to learn herbal medicine practices from other cultures. She studied the art of cacao ceremonies in Bali, earth medicine with the Harakmbut tribe in the Amazon Rainforest, and traditional Incan plant brews in the Sacred Valley in Peru. She uses this extended training to promote and empower others in their personal journeys of self-love and believes once we truly love ourselves we can spread that love to others in our community.
Dr. Caldwell joined the Emerald City Clinic team to bring her closer to the roots of naturopathic medicine while fostering her strong clinical interest in family medicine and nature cure. While at Bastyr she received additional training in women's health, homeopathy, botanical medicine, craniosacral therapy, and visceral manipulation. She also believes strongly in the importance of the naturopathic principle Docere, doctor as teacher, which she refined for three years as a teaching assistant.
Dr. Caldwell hopes that her practices can bring more awareness of naturopathic medicines to communities of color, and she is dedicated to helping others discover and live the life of their dreams in the highest quality.
