Allison Apfelbaum, ND, LMP
Dr. Allison Apfelbaum is a licensed naturopathic doctor who graduated from Bastyr University in 2013. She had previously earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biobehavioral Health at the Pennsylvania State University. Upon graduating from the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program, Dr. Apfelbaum completed an accredited two year residency program in primary care family practice. She has a busy insurance-based primary care practice with special interests in endocrinology, pain management, autoimmune disease, and allergies. Dr. Apfelbaum also completed the massage intensive program and incorporates this knowledge into her physical medicine treatments.
This will be Dr. Apfelbaum's third year on the WANP's Board of Directors.

Jana Nalbandian, ND
A 1989 graduate of John Bastyr College, Dr. Jana Nalbandian has been a Naturopathic physician since 1990. She had a private practice in Seattle and then worked at Bastyr University from 1997 to 2010 as the Department Chair of Clinical Sciences, Faculty Senate chair, and Interim Director of the phase out of Midwifery. From 2010 to 2021, she worked at Avante Medical Center in Anchorage, AK - serving as CMO for 2 years, and then as safety officer. She moved back to the Seattle area in 2021 and has been working as the Associate Dean of Clinical Education at Bastyr University since then.
This will be Dr. Nalbandian's first year on the WANP's Board of Directors, but she perviously served as the President of the Alaska Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AKANP) from 2011 to 2016.

Lorinda Sorensen, ND, MSAc, LAc
Dr. Lorinda Sorensen is a Licensed Naturopathic Physician in the states of Washington and Oregon, and a Licensed Acupuncturist in Washington. She is a 2000 graduate of Bastyr University, where she received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Master of Science in Acupuncture, and Bachelor of Health Sciences. She currently practices at Battle Ground Healing Arts in southwestern Washington. She is a former professor at National University of Health

Sciences (NUHS), where she taught classes in botanical medicine, naturopathic philosophy, endocrinology, and women’s health. She has practiced in Washington, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, and New Zealand, where she was also a consultant for the health products industry.
This will be Dr. Sorensen's first year on the WANP's Board of Directors, but she brings extensive nonprofit Board experience, having previously served on the Board of the Illinois Association of Naturopathic Physicians (ILANP) from 2013 to 2018 and again in 2020 (engaging as the BoardSecretary, Conference Committee Co-Chair, Membership and Education Committee Chair, and Conference Committee Member over the years); as a Founding Board Member of the Endocrinology Association of Naturopathic Physicians from 2013 to 2017; as the Secretary of the New Zealand Society of Naturopaths from 2006 to 2007; and as the Founding President of the Nebraska Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Association from 2003 to 2004.

Justin Taylor, ND
Dr. Justin Taylor completed Naturopathic Medical School at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in 2009 and completed a family practice residency in 2010. He and his wife, Nicole Taylor, ND, opened and operated both a family medical practice and a medical spa from 2009-2017. In 2017, Dr. Taylor decided to shift focus and took a job with Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma, WA, to introduce Integrative Medicine to a hospital setting. Passionate about Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Taylor choose to emerse himself in the conventional medical community to help educate Allopathic providers about what we do and to bring the benefits of Naturopathic medicine to the rural community in Grays Harbor. for Summit Pacific Medical Center, Dr. Taylor has provided primary care in one of the sickest communities in Washington State. He also serves as a resource providing integrative support to his conventionally trained colleagues looking for additional treatment options when other have failed.
This will be Dr. Taylor's first year on the WANP's Board of Directors, but he has served on the Governmental Affairs Committee since 2020.

Suzanne Way, ND, LAc
Dr. Suzanne Way is a Washington State native who completed the naturopathic medical program at John Bastyr College in 1993. With many years of practice experience, she is interested in serving on the WANP's Board of Directors to promote awareness of the naturopathic medical profession.
This will be Dr. Way's first year on the WANP's Board of Directors.

Student Representative: Brenna McGrath, NMS2
Brenna McGrath is just beginning her second year of the naturopathic medical program at Bastyr University. Having grown up in Rochester, NY, she moved to the PNW only a year ago in pursuit of this medicine. So far, she is loving the mountain biking and skiing scene (and notes that the views are pretty unbeatable as well). Brenna has a BS in Nutrition and is passionate about holistic health built from the ground up utilizing tools that work for the individual. She has recently been discovering a love for physical medicine and is currently studying massage therapy through the Washington Spa
